Sept./Oct. Progress

After the footings and garage floor were poured the framing for the garage and front porch began.


Aaron and Tracy came up yesterday (10/19) to help us install the front door and the last of the windows
.
This is help? All the way to the ground Aaron!

Voila! Adding the garage and front porch sure changed the look of the house! Now they're working on the deck in the back.

August progress

Our great son-in-law, Aaron Wiens spent part of his labor day weekend helping Ron lay out the footings for the garage and front porch. It was between 106 and 110 degrees and they just kept plugging along. Thanks so much, Aaron!

A lot of the progress this month you cannot see. The rough plumbing is complete, the heating and air is about half way finished and we should have a garage and a deck soon!

July Progress

We now have all the windows and doors installed (with the exception of the front and garage doors).
We're ready to dig pier footings for the deck on this side of the house.



We are also ready to dig footings for the garage which will attach to the right front side where you see the single door space.
The plumbers have been here all week and the painters have primed the facia.

Here are a couple of pics to bring you a little more up-to-date on our progress.
We are just about to put the roof sheeting on and are backfilling the foundation. The garage concrete will go in next and work will begin on the back porch. There is a great deal of log work on the rear and a little log work on the front porch. We'll have pictures of that FOR SURE.

Third floor has begun and we're ready for rafters to go on!

You can see that the waterproofing is completed on the basement. Ron and I did it ourselves.

Beginning framing is sooooo exciting!! As of this posting, the main floor is on and the walls will be going up beginning tomorrow. Yea!

Our grandaughter, Charlotte, came to visit and brought her parents! What a GREAT weekend with Uncle Aaron, Aunt Tracy, Aaron Wiens, Christa, Aunt Lisa and cousins Austin and Dillon spending time with Grandad and Grammy. Charlotte loved her new wagon too!

The "REAL" inspectors arrive.

The logs arrive and the basement floor is stained.

First we had to build Ron's shop. It is a 30' X 60' metal building. The east side will have logs & stone to match the house.



Finally we were able to start on our house!
