Work Day
This last weekend our children organized a work day for us. We had approximately 43 people who came on Saturday morning. They accomplished in one day what would have taken Ron and I together about a month or more to do. We are SOOO grateful to all of those who worked so hard and seemed to have such a great time doing it! What a blessing! Our daughter-in-law, Tracy fixed an amazing lunch for everyone and Aaron, Christa and her husband Aaron chipped in with everyone else. Our son, Sheldon got up at 3:30 am to drive from the coast to help too. You can see that we had a few hams in the group but mostly just a lot of hard working friends. You can see more pictures if you go to Christa's blog on the right of this page. Thank you to all our wonderful friends! You can also see at the bottom of these the view we had from our house of the valley fog. Later the sun broke through and it was a beautiful day.

Progress as of September
Here are the latest pictures. All of the logs on the west end of the house are complete thanks to our friend Tim Cook who came from Poole, England to help.
All of the painting inside is complete and we're ready to start putting down floor
coverings and about half of the kitchen is installed. Also there are pictures of the ceilings. We're about half way through them as well. It's a three man job and we can only progress when Ron has help. Ron's son, Sheldon came last Saturday and, between the two of them, much of the ceiling was put up. On a family note, our daughter, son-in-law, youngest son, daughter-in-law and grandkids came up while Sheldon was here and had lunch together. What fun! I'll have more pictures soon.

July 2008
We have been busy and I've been slow in getting these pictures posted.
This is how it looks as of today. All of the stucco is complete!
We have all of the basement painted and baseboards down. The shiny floor you see is stained concrete and we are so happy with the results. The red room you see is on the first floor and it is the dining room. The third floor is still being sheet rocked so I don't have any pictures of it. The blue room with the pedestal sink and toilet is obviously a bathroom. It's in the basement and has an infrared sauna and will have a glass block shower enclosure. The one room with a bed is where we sleep when the heat is unbearable. That is a guest bedroom. The room with boxes and a shelf is a storage room in the basement. The largest room is a game room and will have a soda bar where you see a black pipe coming out of the floor.
Please forgive the duplicates. I had a hard time editing this.

The following are pictures of our latest progress. Our son, Aaron came up once to help Ron put logs on the south and west sides of the house and then again to help prime the basement walls that finally have sheet rock. Then our good friends John and Karen Wall came up today (5/10) to help us paint. We now have the first coat on most all the basement walls. It looks great!!
